About Us
The business was established in 1972 by Hamish D. Smith and his late wife Sylvia, laying the foundations for a family jewellers that continues to serve the Hawick community today.
In 1992, the shop moved to its current premises in the prominent position beside Hawick’s iconic 1514 horse monument, fondly referred to locally as ‘Ken’ the horse.
For over 50 years, the shop has been proud to serve the Hawick community and generations of local families who continue to place their trust in us. Today, we remain committed to being Hawick’s trusted destination for jewellery, watches and meaningful gifts, and are proud to continue the town’s long tradition of independent jewellery retail.
Continuing the Tradition
Following the sad passing of Hamish in 2023, the business is now owned and run by his daughter Janie and granddaughter Natalie. Their vision is to continue modernising and evolving the shop while maintaining the traditional values of quality, trust and service that the business was built upon.
